Welcome to St Augustine's College.
We are a community dedicated to providing high quality, inclusive education.
We are proud to be a contemporary, co-educational College for Prep to Year 12 students.
In our day to day work with students and their families, we focus around four key areas of College life:
St Augustine's College commenced in January 2003 with 176 students, and we currently have over 1440 students from Prep-Year 12.
Our College takes its name from St Augustine of Hippo, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, whose service of his North African diocese was spent amidst the political and social ferment of the late Roman Empire. You can learn more about our namesake here.
St Augustine's College was established and is administered by Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE), the educational arm of the Archdiocese of Brisbane. As part of the learning community of all involved in diocesan Catholic schools - a community currently comprising 136 schools - St Augustine's College has access to the very significant services provided by Brisbane Catholic Education.
We have also been welcomed into the worldwide network of Augustinian schools; with a sister school relationship being established in our foundation year with St Mary's College in Nagasaki in western Japan.
St Augustine's is a master planned College that provides for students in four developmental phases:
Early Years (Prep-Year 2)
Junior Years (Years 3-5),
Middle Years (Years 6-9) and
Senior Years (Years 10-12).
Each phase has its own precinct, subtle uniform variation and curriculum focus, while still remaining part of a seamless P - 12 College community.
An ongoing building program - funded by a combination of Commonwealth and State Government funds and loans taken out for repayment by this community - has progressively brought online facilities needed for each precinct as required. The College also has a very active College Board and Parents and Friends Association who support the work of the College by providing financial support, physical support and strategic advice to the Leadership team of the College.
As St Augustine's College has grown, we have developed a respected reputation and relationship with the local community, for which we have been very grateful and careful to maintain. We attribute this to many factors however the most important has to be the people within our community - our students, parents, and staff.
In that regard, I invite all community members, to bring alive our College motto and "Be together in Heart and Mind" by immersing yourself in our College life and embrace the opportunities available here.
